HOME OF CHAMPIONS ROYALTY

Home of Champions Rodeo is proud to introduce our 2024 Royalty

Queen: Alyssa Thormahlen

A Belfry Montana native, Alyssa Thormahlen grew up on a working sheep and cattle ranch. Throughout her youth she pursued her love for animals through FFA and 4H. As an American Degree recipient she is a strong supporter of FFA, 4H and agricultural life. After High School graduation she pursued her associates degree in animal science and a vet assistant certification. While pursuing her goals Alyssa had the opportunity to work for some great vets including Powell Vet, Montana Mobile Vet and Red Lodge Veterinary Clinic. Upon completion of her degree she spent time working at Lund Equine, before realizing her passion for teaching.

Alyssa is a current music teacher, working with youth in our community. She is also a member of the American Quarter Horse association, the NILE and the American Angus Association. Alyssa raises sheep as well as commercial & registered Black Angus cattle. After receiving a NILE Merit Heifer in 2019, she began showing registered Black Angus, and continues to show in the NILE Merit Heifer Progeny Pen each year. She owns two AQHA horses and one unregistered gelding. With these horses she continues to barrel race, carry flags and gather cows. Alyssa’s love of rodeo began when she joined the Carbon County Kids Rodeo Club (CCKRC) at 5 years old. This rodeo club also sparked her interest in royalty as she held the title of CCKRC Queen for 3 years. She hopes to continue helping animals, promoting rodeo and showing her cattle.

Alyssa is extremely grateful for all the support she has received from her family, friends and the public.

Miss Teen: Maddie Tharp

My name is Maddie Tharp. I am the Home of Champion Teen Queen 2024, I am the daughter of Brandon and Amanda Tharp. I am 14 years old and am enrolled at Bridger High School. I live on a farm raising cows, horses and chickens. I enjoy participating in rodeos, playing volleyball and hanging out with friends and family.

After competing for the CCKRC little miss title and winning, my love for rodeo royalty began, I competed for Miss Teen Queen Home of Champions in July of 2023 and won. I absolutely love being the Miss Home of Champions Teen Queen for this amazing community and I am so excited to keep competing as the years go on.

I appreciate my family for the time and support they’ve put into my journey and I am also extremely grateful for Mandi Holland for her support and direction that benefits me not only in my royalty journey, but also in my future endeavors. I appreciate how caring, kind and patient my family and Mandi have been.

Princess: Makenzie Stamp

My Name is Makenzie Stamp. I am Proud to be your 2024 Red Lodge Home of Champions Rodeos Princess. I am 11 years old. I am from Billings, MT.

My Passion is my horses. DC, Tracks, Queso & Arizona. If I am not at school or participating in Sports, I am with my horses. They are my first loves. I rodeo every chance I get. I Barrel race, Pole Bend, Goat Tie and do Trail Course. Cowboying is in my blood. Someday I will have my own ranch.

I want to be a Horse trainer and Equine Vet when I am older. For now, I am learning all I can about both.

Currently I am training with Valee Miller and because of her I have grown in my horsemanship, Rodeo and learned so much about myself and horses.

I am thankful for my Parents for always providing me the opportunity to grow in Rodeo.

Because of God I am thankful for all I have. I am thankful for this opportunity to be Your 2024 Home of Champions Princess

“It’s a great opportunity, it really helps me in other areas of life like public speaking, communication all the little things. I have a passion for riding too so I kind of bring all that together and it’s perfect for me.”

Contribute to Our Success!

This year, the Red Lodge Home of Champions Rodeo Association is celebrating 95 years of supporting the western way of life and the rodeo industry. At the PRCA  in Las Vegas this last December, the Red Lodge Rodeo was voted the Medium Size Rodeo of the Year! We simply could not do what we do every year without the generous support of the community and patrons like you. You all have played an integral part in the success of our rodeo to be one of the top 60 PRCA rodeos in the world in addition to adding an Xtreme Bulls event. We look forward to being part of the PRCA Tour again next year which includes many incentives for rodeo athletes and the community including our rodeo televised on the Cowboy Channel app.

Along with providing a great rodeo while continually adding to the overall purse for the athletes, the rodeo committee has set forth a vision to continually improve the rodeo grounds. Over the years, we have slowly replaced one aging wooden grandstand after another to improve the longevity of our grounds. Our next major project will be to secure funding to refurbish the covered wooden grandstand. Our long term goal is to finish this project by our 100 year anniversary in 2029.

We appreciate your time and consideration in donating to help the Red Lodge Home of Champions Rodeo reach its goals!
